Soon we bid farewell to the year 2013 and we say adios to my twenties!

The Honolulu Marathon was on my bucketlist as a way to end the year and my twenties with a BANG! I signed up a year ago when it was only $26.20 (that is $1 a mile! what a deal!). I thought, one year… ah, that’s plenty of time to train and get ready for the run of my life. Somehow though, time just crept up on me and before I knew it, it was marathon time!

Matt kept saying, “you don’t have to do it” “you shouldn’t do it; you didn’t even train” – what kind of support system is that from my hubby! Either way, it’s not like I listen to him haha. Ready or not, I was committed to doing the marathon and by golly, I did it! 26.2 miles in just under 8 hours!

The Race Is On!

The Race Is On!

I. AM. A. FINISHER!

I have the black toe and free shirt to prove it!

Proof that I did the run! My First Black Toe!

Although I walked majority of the run, I still feel successful and proud of myself. Thanks fellow marathon troops (Yosh, Baby Yosh, Eski & Faith) for keeping me company and thank you to all the supporters out there!

I'm a finisher! That's Ritsuko, my coworker, who passed out somen during the race! So Japanese ;)

Call me crazy, but I want to try to tackle the Honolulu Marathon again to really give it my all and try to get a good time. Now, if only I could get Matty to join in on the FUN! ;)

2013 & to my twenties – I’m going out with a BANG and a SMILE!
