WARNING: this may very well not be a post you wish to read as it is about the unfortunate outcomes of an upset stomach.  However, I don’t know why people squirm so much at the topic, when it’s a natural part of life.  Life requires food, water, rest, peeing, pooping and the like.

Poop is a Part of Life!

Poop is a Part of Life!

Monday 2/10: I was a bit tired at work from celebrating my friend’s birthday the night before.

Happy 29th (and 7 months) Mama Kris!

Happy 29th (and 7 months) Mama Kris!

None-the-less, I went for a jog after work in order to prepare for the 8 mile race I signed up for the following Monday.  Really, who trains one week in advance.  I don’t know why I keep signing up for these things, thinking there is lots of time to train and before I know it, race day is here and I have done absolutely no training what so ever.  In cases like these, we say, “may the odds be ever in your favor…”

Tuesday 2/11: Woke up feeling fine but soon after I got to work I had a fever that lasted all day long.  I stuck it out and finished off the day, actually I was surprised at how productive I was.  As soon as I got home though, I showered and went to bed from 7pm.  That should be enough time to rest and  recover.

Wednesday 2/12: Woke up feeling like a champ with no fever, thank goodness.  However, I had the unfortunate case of the “runny doots.”   I figured it’s no big deal and went to work.  I had 2 musubi’s for lunch because I figured rice will help solidify whatever is in my tum tum.  I think it worked a little so I braved it and went to Bikram Yoga that night.  I figured yoga will help sweat away all the bad germs.  I sense a pattern here where I try to reason and figure if I do A then B will happen… maybe that is not the case..

Thursday 2/13: Woke up feeling in mint condition, but sadly I still had the case of the runny doots.  Somehow it seemed worse than the day before.  I made it through the day though and hoped and prayed that when I woke up the next day I would be back to normal..

Friday 2/14: Happy Valentine’s Day (not very romantic haha)!  I woke up thinking I went a good poop but soon came to the realization that it was just a dream.  I still have the case of the runny doots and it is now the third day.  Should I be worried?  Should I see the dreaded doctor, which I really do not wish to do?  Should I take over the counter medication?  Should I just let it run it’s course and hope that it’s gone soon?  I just don’t know what to do because this has never happened to me before.

Saturday 2/15: Woke up for work bright and early and survived the day!  I was hopeful that the case of the runny doots had dissipated because I had my friends 30th birthday party that night!

Happy Dirty Thirty Kabocha Pie!

Happy Dirty Thirty Kabocha Pie!

I went to the party but was too scared to eat.  I had some rice,  tofu, soup and salad.  I thought all was well, but that was wishful thinking.  Woke up throughout the night with sore stomach and runny doots.  I was really beginning to worry seeing as how in 2 days I had an 8 mile race to run.

Sunday 2/16: Same story different day!  It felt better but still was not back to normal.  That night I went to bed early because I had to wake up early for the race.  On a bright note, finally for the first time in a week I did not wake up in the middle of the night to poop!  With that being said, I decided Monday morning when I woke up that I will tackle this 8 mile Great Aloha Run!

Monday 2/17 – Race day and another post to come about that later!

Great Aloha Run | 8 Miles

Great Aloha Run | 8 Miles

To finish off my story – I just have to say that turning 30 is the doots – literally I had runny doots for a good week and that has never happened to me before!  I blame you THIRTIES!  I didn’t know I had this to look forward to.  However, on the bright side I overcame the situation and am now thankfully back to normal ;)

Thank you for listening to my story about doodoo!!!  Remember it is only natural and a part of life so embrace it!
