While Halloween is apparently a fave “holiday” for many, I would say I’m quite the opposite. I’m a Halloween grinch.

However since this would be our first time celebrating Halloween in our new place, we were on the ropes about whether or not we should do something. Plus for the first time in a while, Halloween fell on a Saturday so it seemed like such a waste to be a total grinch. Us being the procrastinators that we are, didn’t go searching for a costume or candy until maybe an hour half before prime candy time. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any costumes, but we did find some spider webs to decorate the house.

Most importantly, I found two bottles of wine and some cheese to munch on while we passed out candy. As it turns out, our street is not very busy with trick or treaters. We had double dippers come back for seconds haha! It was really cute though because Matt was super excited. “Trick or Treat” we would hear and Matt would happily run to door saying, “trick or treat.. I’m coming!” And since it was kind of a dead night, he gave handfuls of candy out at a time. Lucky kids!

This was our first time ever passing out candy and it was fun. Next time we’ll need to plan ahead and really pull off something great. We heard one of the parents say as their kid walked off, “look, there’s your favorite house coming up!” Our goal next year is to beat that house! Muahahahhaha!

I hope everyone else had a very happy and safe Halloweenie! Until next years festivities! Oh and I almost forgot – we kicked off our Halloween morning with an early hike up Makapuu Lighthouse! This was our first family hike!
