…Annie’s back!  Annie’s back!  Annie’s back!!!

It’s been almost a year since our dear friend, Annie Cakes, moved away.  Luckily, she is able to visit from time to time.  Her last visit was in March 2015 and this year she starts off 2016 with a trip to Hawaii!  I like to think she came especially for my birthday, but we all know the truth… she wanted to get away from the cold!  Of course, she missed us girlies too.

This was a fun-filled 11 days with lots of late nights, non stop eating and drinking surrounded by amazing friends and lots of laughter and memories.  It’s hard to juggle everyone’s schedule these days, but we made it happen.  First night in, we all got together for dinner, drinks and nail time!  Annie is  a Jamberry consultant so of course she wants us to be her guinea pigs!  The girlies are not going to say no when it’s free and we end up looking prettier!  We have the girl who bites her nails, the girl who does jiu jitsu, the girl who always washes her hands – so we were skeptical of how long these nails would last.  Needless to say, it lasted about a week, but in the end, the few days that our nails were at it’s finest, it really made the work day a lot more cheerful!  Getting compliments, seeing it sparkle – it’s real uplifting!

Jamberry Nail Party!

Enough about nails!  What else did we do while Annie was here…. EAT!  There were the usual food places she has to hit up.

If anyone is visiting Hawaii this is where it’s at: Salt & Pepper Chicken from L&L in Enchanted Lakes, anything from Zippy’s, Bostons Kaneohe, Poke and Kulolo from Times, Foodland or anywhere that sells poke (Annie must have had at least 5 pounds of poke haha), Lemon Crunch Cake from Aiea Bowl and the list goes on and on and on!  We really did eat a lot!  We also had our fair share of drinks, but to be honest, we’re not as crazy as before.  In our hay days, we used to have a whole bottle of wine each, nowadays we’ll “share” the bottle.  Of course, there is one exception – bubbly Sunday.  We must have gone through at least 7 bottles haha!

Bubbly Sunday is always a MUST!

We also experienced our very first tea time together!  It was quite fancy, but as it turns out, we girlies are not so high-class.  An “adult” tea time with long island iced teas seems more appropriate for us.  Although, one needs to be virgin because we got the best news of all – someone is expecting!  EEKS!!!!  Our group is growing!!!!!!  More about that later! I must say, we dress up pretty nicely!

All in all, it was fun having our Annie Cakes back home, our group was complete.  From high school, to college, to now – we’re still the best of friends (no matter the distance) and I hope that will continue on until we’re old and wrinkly!  These girls are the best!  I also got a free Luna babysitter!  I think they had fun together!

Stay tuned for Annie’s next visit in May!
