Fourth of July Weekend – it was that epic that I need to do a recap!

I get so excited when I finally have a day off! This year the Fourth of July holiday landed on a Friday. OMG OMG OMG! Long weekend here I come.

Thursday – countdown to Pau Hana started right after lunch. T minus 5 hours until we got to attend Honolulu Professionals Foundation’s charity fundraiser, “Party FOUR A Purpose!” I’ve missed the past couple events so I was really excited to go. This time around was the biggest event yet! A whole ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki with pupus, hosted bar, photobooth, entertainment and great company. Need less to say, we might have had a bit too much to drink but hey, the next day was a holiday, we had to get our money’s worth and also, we were very responsible and booked a hotel room (earlier that morning).

Of course heavy drinking Thursday, turned into slow start Friday.

Friday – thank goodness for late check out at Ohana Waikiki West. We literally stayed there blobbing around until the checkout time. Then we had to hightail it to 1pm karaoke at Krazy Karaoke. Somehow our 4 hour reservation was extended an extra 2 more hours! My friends are crazy karaoke lovers! They also love drinking and after a night of too much drinking it took awhile to have that first sip, but we powered through and it was really a lot of fun. I got a tattoo too! (It’s fake, don’t worry. My dad would slap me if I got one). None the less, I feel proud to show off my fireworks tattoo in honor of our independence!

Saturday – I woke up feeling quite exhausted, but had to get my butt out of bed bright and early for work.  “Work Hard, Play Harder” is my motto.  And that night, play I did… we celebrated Matt’s grandpa’s 99th birthday.  That’s right, I said NINETY NINTH BIRTHDAY!  Isn’t that amazing!  It was a great gathering with family and close family friends.  Happy birthday grandpa and cheers to many more years!

Sunday – woke up feeling fatigued again, but what’s new and what’s my motto?  Work Hard, Play Harder!  Just need to push through it all!  Sunday 07.06.14 was a big day since it was Zippy’s William Henry’s last day of business.  Bittersweet.  One less store to work at on the weekends (YAY), but now we don’t have drive thru anymore (BOO!).  I polished off the weekend by visiting some open houses and then having an early dinner with my family!  I cannot imagine a better way to end the weekend other than spending time with my nephew, puppy and family!

Unfortunately, I did miss a few other gatherings such as camping at Bellows with my Kailua friends, watching fireworks with my Kaneohe girls, attending the UFC BBQ on both Saturday and Sunday with some other friends, but there will be another time for that!

Told yah this weekend was epic!  These are the moments we live for!
